As a web designer we spend much of our time browsing the internet looking for ideas, for inspiration and opportunities for new designs. It's unlikely, unless really creative that you're going to be able to get your web designs right every time, especially with troublesome clients.

So you've got your website up and running, and now, visitors will swam to your website? Often, clients see the launch of their website as being the end, they've completed their site and now expect people to just visit it every day. Maybe this is the case if you've been around for a while, but often times this is just the beginning.
Your website should be optimized and easy for people to find it in Google.
This is quite a common misconception in web design whereby user's aren't scrolling down the page, most web designers put their main call-to-actions nearer the top of the page, and whilst this is a good idea and should be followed, you can still certainly put them further down the page too.
Has anyone heard someone say: "My cousin can design our website, he's great with computers." Whilst he might be a great kid, do you really want him to be the face of your business?
We'd really wish that this is true, and that all browsers work in the same way, but they don't. And each browser will render your website slightly differently, web designers design for the most modern browsers and then implement fixes for certain elements for older browsers so that they can work similarly.
We've all heard that the logo should be made larger, but should it be the right size and not overly large. If you can see your logo from the other side of the room then it's most likely too big and should be made smaller.
